(RALEIGH, IL) — IDOT says a portion of Route 34 in Saline County will be down to one lane weather permitting starting today just north of Raleigh Road and extending south for two miles ending near Ellis Road. This will be in place until Aug. 15. During this closure, Route 34 will be open to southbound traffic only. Northbound traffic will be detoured onto Route 13 westbound and Harco Road to the north. Harco Road has a load restriction of 20 tons. Vehicles over 20 tons will have to use Illinois marked routes. Traffic at the intersection of Route 34 and Raleigh Road will be controlled with temporary traffic signals. Message boards, signs, and other traffic control devices will be in place to direct motorists.
