(WEST FRANKFORT, IL) — The West Frankfort City Council Tuesday night approved amending the city’s liquor license ordinance to help local restaurants and clubs have the ability to sell alcohol on Sundays during sporting events. City Clerk Angie Baker says the new Sunday hours are 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. They were 1 to 6 p.m. The amended ordinance takes effect immediately.  City officials feel the change will give West Frankfort a level playing field and give businesses and clubs the opportunity to compete with other communities that sell liquor on Sunday.
