(HERRIN, IL) — A Herrin man was injured after a car pulled out in front of his motorcycle at the intersection of South 11th and East Stotlar Streets just before 1 Sunday afternoon. Herrin Police told WSIL-TV 18-year-old Ryan Gottschalk pulled into the path of 46-year-old Jeffrey Knight. Knight was airlifted to a St. Louis trauma center due to the extent of his injuries. Police issued three citations to Knight after the accident – driving with a suspended license, driving an uninsured vehicle and expired registration. Gottschalk was cited for failing to yield.
