(Edwardsville, IL) — A Wood River man will serve at least eight-and-a-half years of a ten year sentence for firing a gun through his apartment door during a standoff with police. Authorities were called to a home in Wood River last year for a report of possible domestic battery. The mother of Daniel Elledge told cops her son had battered her and locked himself in an upstairs apartment. When police tried to make contact with Elledge he fired a shot. Elledge pleaded guilty and was sentenced Tuesday in Madison County Court.
