(East St. Louis, IL) — The Justice Department has reportedly issued a subpoena for financial records of East St. Louis Township after reports of overspending by the township supervisor. The “News-Democrat” reports Oliver Hamilton’s use of a township-issued credit card is being questioned because of expenses for things like Las Vegas trips, expensive car washes, tools, tires and building supplies. Hamilton admits making the 85-thousand-dollars of purchases over 18-months, but denies he did anything wrong.
