(WEST FRANKFORT, IL) — West Frankfort officials are looking at making changes to the city’s liquor laws to help broaden sales there. West Frankfort Mayor Tom Jordan recently told the Southern Illinoisan that Huck’s was awarded a pour liquor license that will let the convenience store install video gaming machines. Jordan says the business is only interested in allowing gaming and won’t be serving alcohol to customers. Other West Frankfort businesses have approached the city about allowing them to pour alcohol on Sundays, which is not allowed at this time, though packaged alcohol can be sold. The city council is expected to discuss this issue at its next meeting on June 14.
