(MT. VERNON, IL) — The Mt. Vernon City Council met Monday evening.  Among items on their agenda, the Council approved a bid result for the Salute to Freedom Fireworks Display from Central State Fireworks for $20,000.  The City Manager presented the capital projects report. The City Attorney gave the first reading of an ordinance authorizing the ceding of private activity bonding authority, a resolution reclassifying certain public utilities and sanitation accounts for accounting purposes was approved as was a resolution approving agreement with IDOT for appropriation of motor fuel tax funds for maintenance of streets and highways.
