(MT. VERNON, IL) — The Mt. Vernon City Council is set to meet this evening.  Among items on their agenda, the Council will hear bid results for the Salute to Freedom Fireworks Display.  The City Manager will present the capital projects report. The City Attorney will give a first reading of an ordinance authorizing the ceding of private activity bonding authority, a resolution reclassifying certain public utilities and sanitation accounts for accounting purposes, and a resolution approving agreement with IDOT for appropriation of motor fuel tax funds for maintenance of streets and highways.  Finally, Mayor Mary Jane Chesley will read a proclamation declaring this week ROBORAMS week in addition to a proclamation declaring the month of May as Motorcycle Awareness Month.  The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Rolland W. Lewis Community Building at Veteran’s Park.
