(MT. VERNON, IL) — The Illinois Department of Juvenile Justice, the Illinois Department of Public Health, the Jefferson County Health Department, and the Jackson County Health Department will be hosting a First Step event in Mt. Vernon on March 24 at the Rolland W. Lewis Community Building.  The invitation only event will focus on youth on probation and enrolled in the Illinois Department of Justice Aftercare program.  Participants will get an opportunity to speak to businesses and organizations about employment, education, social services, healthcare, and other services available to them.
