(WHITTINGTON, IL) — A Texas woman was killed in a one-vehicle crash in Franklin County early Monday morning. Illinois State Police say around 4:40, 22-year-old Geornisha D. Brown, of South Bend, IN was driving south on I-57 at mile post 78 just past the Sesser/Whittington exit when her car left the edge of the roadway. They were not wearing seatbelts. Various lane closures were in place on both sides of the interstate for four-and-a-half hours. All lanes were back open around 9 a.m. No charges have been filed at this time. The crash remains under investigation.
