(WEST CITY, IL) — West City will be getting a new water tower. The West City Village Board held a special meeting Monday and decided it was time for the aging water tower behind City Hall to come down and be replaced with a new one that will be built just east of City Hall. The project will be financed through capital improvements and water department funds. Board members have put Shawnee Professional Services in charge of the bidding process. Shawnee does engineering for the village. An attempt to contact Shawnee and West City Village Clerk Shirley Smith about the specifics of the project and how much it will cost has went unanswered at this time.
