(MT. VERNON, IL) — A nearly 6-month long investigation has resulted in a warrant sweep through Jefferson County that has so far landed 10 people in jail on various drug-related charges. Members of the Mt. Vernon Police Department and Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office began the sweep Wednesday. Twenty-six people were wanted on drug-related charges. As of Thursday afternoon, ten had been located and arrested. Of those sought, 7 were wanted on meth-related charges, 3 were wanted on cannabis-related charges, 5 were wanted for prescription drug-related charges, 8 were wanted on heroin-related charges, and 3 were wanted on cocaine-related charges. Those arrested to this point include 25-year-old John Blagg for Delivery of a controlled substance (meth), 39-year-old Michael Glenn for Conspiracy to manufacture meth and unlawful possession of meth precursor, 63-year-old Alfred Jones for Delivery of a controlled substance (oxycodone), 31-year-old David Keen for Delivery of a controlled substance (heroin), 24-year-old Jessica Keen for 3 counts Delivery of a controlled substance (heroin), 29-year-old Darryl Long for Delivery of a controlled substance (cocaine) within 1,000 feet of a park, 24-year-old Meghan Reeves (Hicks) for Possession of meth precursor, 58-year-old Patricia Smith for Delivery of a controlled substance (oxycodone), 24-year-old James Hicks for Delivery of a controlled substance (meth), and 27-year-old Shane Hicks for Possession of a controlled substance (heroin).
