(SALEM, IL) — Bail has been set at $10,000 for a 31-year-old Centralia man arrested Monday afternoon for alleged home invasion. Joshua Fleming was wanted on an outstanding Illinois Department of Corrections warrant when just before 3:30 Monday afternoon the resident of a home allegedly noticed him sitting inside her vehicle outside her home in the 600 block of South Hickory Street in Centralia and told him to get out of the car. Fleming then reportedly walked into the woman’s home and once inside reportedly became violent and attempted to strike the woman’s 29-year-old son as the man worked to remove him from the house. Centralia officers reportedly located Fleming walking down the street and the woman and her son were able to ultimately identify Fleming as the man who had entered the home. Officers say they had encountered Fleming earlier Monday and they believe he was under the influence of drugs. Fleming was formally charged Tuesday in Marion County Court with Class 4 felony criminal trespass to a residence while persons are present.
