Virginia Jean Herzing, 85, of Mt. Vernon, and a former resident of Dahlgren, died 5:15 a.m. Sunday, March 13, 2016 at the Mt. Vernon Residential Living Center in Mt. Vernon. Funeral Mass for Virginia Jean Herzing will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Dahlgren with Father Slawomir Ptak officiating. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery in Dahlgren.  Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at Newell Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon and on Thursday from 9 a.m. until Mass time at the church.
