(SALEM, IL) — Bail has been set at $250,000 for a 27-year-old Centralia man formally charged in Marion County Court with multiple firearms charges and a delivery of heroin charge. Broderick Currie was arrested after a federal parole agent made a check on his home last week reportedly found illegal items, and called Centralia police to assist. Once inside the home officers reportedly found two loaded firearms, an extra magazine of ammunition, and more than a gram of heroin, along with a scale, and other drug-related items. Currie is formally charged with two counts Class 2 felony possession of a firearm with a prior conviction and Class 1 felony possession of between 1-15 grams of heroin with the intent to deliver. He is scheduled for an April 5 first appearance with court appointed counsel.
