WALTONVILLE, IL — A hit and run accident on Route 148 near East Davis Road has left a man severely injured. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the accident that happened around 11 p.m. last Thursday. Sheriff’s reports indicate that there was a male pedestrian along Route 148 when he was struck by a gray or silver vehicle. Investigators indicate the vehicle involved will have damage to the passenger side mirror. The victim was reportedly flown to a St. Louis hospital for treatment.
