Marjorie Ann (Risley) Smith Benoist, 85, of Spartanburg, South Carolina, passed away at 11:39 P.M., Friday, August 21, 2015 at her home in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

In honor of Mrs. Benoist’s wishes she was cremated and A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, September 5 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon with Reverend Stacy Tate officiating. Burial will follow at Oddfellows Cemetery in Dahlgren.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 1 to 2:00 P.M. Saturday, September 5 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon.

For those who wish, memorials may be given to Angels on Assignment, American Red Cross, and Wounded Warrior in Memory of Marjorie Ann (Risley) Smith Benoist and will be accepted at the funeral home or may be mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 721, Mt. Vernon, Illinois 62864.
