JOHNSTON CITY, Ill. (AP) —Johnston City is adding video cameras to its police force. The city’s police department has dashboard cameras for six of its eight squad cars. The Southern Illinoisan reports it also has received a donation to purchase body cameras. Police Chief William Stark says he plans to buy eight body cameras for four full-time officers and nine part-time officers. Stark says he thinks it’s important to have the cameras so that there is documentation in the case of any complaints.
