(Carbondale, IL) — Carbondale will no longer have restrictions on Halloween. The city council voted last night in favor of lifting the ban on keg sales within the city. Before Tuesday’s vote, only three bars on the Strip were allowed to remain open on Halloween for the last two years during a trial period. Some council members believe if all goes well they will look into holding a street fest and a city-based party. The last time Carbondale lifted restrictions on Halloween was 2000. That is when there were several days of violent riots that left many businesses with heavy damage.
