(Wood River, IL) — A Metro East maintenance man is facing criminal charges after he was accused of sexually abusing children. Police say Richard Heatherly was arrested at his Wood River home and is being held at the Madison County Jail. The registered sex offender works on the grounds of the Conner Place Apartments in Roxanna. Heatherly has been charged with predatory sexual assault of a child and aggravated sexual abuse of a child. He was previously charged on child porn charges.
