(SESSER, IL) — Two people suffered minor injuries in a crash involving a semi and a SUV Tuesday afternoon in Franklin County. Illinois State Police say it happened around 2:10 on Illinois 154 about a quarter of a mile west of Illinois 148 in Sesser. According to the accident report, 87-year-old Robert J. Young of Sparta was driving his car east on Illinois 154 when for unknown reasons, he crossed the center line and struck the semi driven by 49-year-old Robert T. Riley of Bluford. Both vehicles received heavy damage and had to be towed from the scene. Young and his passenger, 87-year-old Gloria L. Young of Sparta, suffered minor injuries. Riley was not injured. They all refused treatment at the scene. No one was taken to the hospital. The roadway was closed for two hours for an investigation and clean-up of the crash. Robert Young was cited for improper lane usage.
