(MT. VERNON, IL) — The Fire Department in Mt. Vernon will continue testing fire hydrants this week beginning Tuesday. The area tested will be north of Broadway from 27th Street to 42nd Street and south of Broadway from 34th Street to 42nd Street. Residents are cautioned that testing can cause discoloration in the water supply within the testing area.
