(Vienna, IL) — A new report shows a Southern Illinois prison hasn’t done much to improve living conditions at its facility. The report from the Chicago-based John Howard Association details complaints from prisoners at the Vienna Correctional Center, including mold, rodents eating food, and spider bites. The complaints come from an October 2014 visit to the minimum-security prison, and there have been similar complaints since 2010. The Illinois Department of Corrections is reportedly working on settling a class-action lawsuit regarding overcrowding at the facility.
