Salem Man Arrested For Home Invasion, Aggravated Domestic Battery

(SALEM, IL) — A 27-year-old Salem man is facing home invasion and aggravated domestic battery charges, after an alleged incident Saturday at his ex-girlfriend’s home. Ryan McCarty was arrested after allegedly entering his ex-girlfriend Reanna McVay’s home, and after an argument between the two, he allegedly threw McVay down on the couch and began choking her. McCarty was arrested a short time after McVay made a report at the Salem Police Department Saturday morning. McCarty was sentenced in 2013 to two-years in the Illinois Department of Corrections on a 2012 conviction for felony aggravated battery causing great bodily harm. A felony charge of home invasion causing injury was dismissed per a plea agreement.
