(CENTRALIA, IL) — Centralia police have arrested a 23-year-old man in connection with a November burglary of a Centralia store during which weapons, and video games were taken. Aaron Gilbert had already been identified through video surveillance as a suspect in the November 19 burglary of Mean Gene’s on South Locust Street in Centralia, but police were unable to locate him until Saturday. A 17-year-old Centralia juvenile allegedly with Gilbert was arrested shortly after the burglary, during which knives, handcuffs, stun guns, BB guns and BB pistols were taken, along with less than $50 in change. Gilbert reportedly told police the stolen items were taken to a vacant home and sold. In addition to the November 19 burglary charge, Gilbert was also arrested on warrant stemming from a 2011 burglary conviction that resulted in a three year prison term after his probation had been revoked.
