MOUNT VERNON — Illinois Department of Transportation has announced that crews from the Union Pacific Railroad will be making repairs to the railroad crossing on Route 148 south of Mt. Vernon beginning Wednesday at 8 a.m. and continuing until 6 p.m. on Thursday. Motorists should follow the marked detour as no traffic will be permitted through the work zone until repairs are complete.
