FRANKLIN COUNTY — A Georgia Man was uninjured after his Freightliner caught on fire on Interstate 57 near West Frankfort on Friday.

According to State Police reports, 51-year-old Kenneth Jordan of Montezuma, Georgia, was north bound on I57 at mile post 67. Jordan noticed a large amount of fluid leaking out of the tractor and pulled over to investigate the cause. When he opened
the hood of the Freightliner, the engine was on fire and spread rapidly. The entire cab was consumed and the front half of the trailer was as well.

West City and West Frankfort Fire Departments responded to extinguish the flames. Interstate 57 North Bound was completely shut down for approximately one and one half hours to gain control of the fire.
