MVTHS Class of 2021 Graduation

For the first time ever (and likley the only time), Mt. Vernon Township High School will host graduation at Ken Hunt Stadium! This marks the only time at the new campus that graduation will be outdoors (due to the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic). The ceremony will be at 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 22, and streamed right here! We’ll also post any changes (if necessary) on this page and on social media.

The video will not be live until the ceremony begins. WMIX, Withers Broadcasting, and sponsors cannot be held responsible for any third-party video advertising from YouTube before, during or after the event.

How it’s going to work:

  • 116th Annual Commencement Exercises for the MVTHS Class of 2021 will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2021 in Ken Hunt Stadium on the MVTHS campus at 2:00 pm. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, this Senior Class will be the first and only Class to experience graduation in this setting.  A return to Changnon Gymnasium is planned for 2022.
  • The ceremony will begin at 2:00 pm, barring any weather-related delays.  Due to IDPH restrictions, graduates will receive three tickets each to distribute to friends and family.  Additional tickets will not be available due to capacity limits.  Individuals without tickets will not be admitted into the ceremony.
  • Graduates should plan to arrive at the ceremony on May 22, 2021 no later than 1:10 pm and meet in Changnon Gym.  If IDPH restrictions change, adjustments to the ceremony will be announced at a later date.
  • WMIX will provide updates on social media and on air should events change.
