WOODLAWN — Renee Diane Hart, 58, of Woodlawn, Illinois, passed away at 3:28 pm on May 21, 2023, in Woodlawn, Illinois. She was born November 16, 1964, in Centralia, Illinois to the late John and Gladys (Ashby) Hart.

Renee was a correctional officer at Big Muddy. She and her fiancé enjoyed working alongside her family members in getting the home place up to par. They had worked tirelessly on their wedding which was planned for this September.

Renee is survived by her fiancé, David Mellott of Mount Vernon who was a true blessing in her life for eight years; son, Lucas Waters and wife, Jana and their three children of Benton, Illinois; daughter, Lindsey Arnold and husband, Alex and their four children of Mount Vernon, Illinois; siblings, Brenda Geralds and husband, Mike of Cravat, David Hart and wife, Joyce of Woodlawn, Jerry Hart and wife, Julie of rural Centralia, and Debra Dial of Mount Vernon; and several nieces and nephews. She had a special place in her heart for Lloyd and Ada Piercy, whom she considered family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Donna (Hart) White.

A Visitation will be held Thursday, May 25, 2023, from 11 a.m. to 1:00 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 pm with Reverend Chris White officiating. Interment will follow at Fouts Cemetery in Woodlawn, Illinois.
