CENTRALIA — Shane Moody, 49, of Centralia, passed away Sunday, March 12, 2023. He was born December 1, 1973, in Decatur, IL, the son of Shirley (Williams) Moody and Robert Moody. He was engaged to marry Chrissy Smith and she survives him.

In addition to his fiancee Chrissy Smith, Shane is survived by two daughters: Cailyn Moody and significant other Kyle Simonton of Kell and Sierra Moody and significant other Parker Schutte of St. Louis, MO; one soon-to-be stepson: Parker Smith of Centralia; two grandchildren: Kaisley Simonton of Kell, Rory Schutte of St. Louis, MO, and two more on the way; one brother: Todd Moody and wife Vicki of Salem; one sister: Robin Donoho of Arkansas; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Shane was preceded in death by his grandparents and his sister Bobbi Moody.

Shane worked for EFI as an Electrician for 28 years. He was also an instructor for Sparta Gun Range, a job he greatly enjoyed. He loved spending time with his daughters and especially the grandbabies. He was a fun individual to be around and will be dearly missed by those that knew him.

Per Shane Moody’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. A visitation to celebrate Shane’s life will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, March 17, 2023, at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to his grandchildren’s College Fund with checks payable to his daughters and can be accepted at Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home and Cremation Service at 235 North Sycamore Street Centralia, IL 62801 618-532-3523.
