James Kevin McCoy, 62, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 5:15 am March 7, 2023 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, Indiana. He was born December 23, 1960 in Mount Vernon, Illinois to the late Weldon Harold and Imogene (Osborn) McCoy. James married Terry (Knoener) McCoy on May 22, 2004.

In addition to his beloved wife of nearly nineteen years, James is survived by step daughter, Stacey Rogers of Mount Vernon, Illinois; granddaughters, Madelyn McCoy and fiancé, Carter Coffey of Charleston, Illinois, Macy McCoy of Mount Vernon, Illinois; and nephews, Calen McCoy of Sesser, Illinois, Nathan McCoy of Mount Vernon, Illinois.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his son, James Weldon McCoy and brother, Dee McCoy.

James worked at Continental Tire for many years. He loved to fish and won several awards in fishing tournaments. James enjoyed camping and spending time with friends and family.

A Visitation will be held Saturday, March 11, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Funeral Service will begin at 6:00 pm. Memorials may be made in James’ honor to the family in care of Terry McCoy.
