CENTRALIA — James G. Correll, 82 of Centralia, passed away Sunday, February 26, 2023, at St. Louis University Hospital.

He was born August 13, 1940, in Centralia, IL, the son of James Robert Correll and Juanita L. (Delaney) Correll. He married Joan (Sener) Correll on December 1, 1962, and she preceded him in death on September 2, 2018.

He is survived by two sons: Russell Correll and wife Robin of Walnut Hill and James Correll and wife Connie of Centralia; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren with 3 on the way; brother: John H. Correll of Walnut Hill; sister: Sharon McClelland and husband Darrell of Centralia; brother-in-law: Kenneth Braddy of Goose Creek, SC; and several nieces and nephews.

James is preceded in death by his parents: James R. Correll and Juanita L. Correll; wife: Joan Correll; granddaughter: Amanda Lynn Correll; brother: Jerry Correll; two sisters: Marilyn Blacksher and Sandra Braddy; sister-in-law: De Correll.

James served in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years. He was a member of the Wamac Missionary Baptist Church. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family and friends.

Per his wishes, James was cremated and a Private Family Service was held. He was buried at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Centralia. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wamac Missionary Baptist Church Food Pantry and will be accepted at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home 235 North Sycamore Street Centralia, Illinois 62801, 618-532-3523, who is honored to be of service to the Correll family.
