ILLINOIS MAY SOON HAVE AN OFFICIAL STATE SNAKE

SPRINGFIELD, IL — Illinois may soon have an official state snake.

An 11-year-old from Williamson County recommended naming the Eastern Milksnake to the list of state symbols, so Senator Dale Fowler of Harrisburg did his research.

Lawmakers approved the designation and all that’s needed now is the Governor’s signature for Illinois to have its own official snake.
