CARBONDALE, IL — A death investigation is underway in Carbondale.

According to Carbondale Police, officers responded to the 700 block of West Main Street just before 7 Monday night in reference to a welfare check of the residents.

Officers found 41-year-old Steven E. Lusk of Carbondale and his wife, 40-year-old Montoya M. Moore of Carbondale, dead.

The Jackson County Coroner’s Office was contacted and will conduct an investigation to determine thecause of death. At this point in the investigation, it is believed to be an isolated incident with no risk to the public. Anyone with information about the incident should contact Carbondale Police at 457-3200.
