MT. VERNON, IL — Parties in the 2020 Jefferson County meth-related case against a 58-year-old Belle Rive man have confirmed a jury trial date for next week. Bradley Gammon is charged with Class X felony delivery of between 15 and 100 grams of meth.

Gammon was arrested on the charge during a traffic stop last summer where a Mt. Vernon police officer reportedly noticed him driving a vehicle in the area of 44th and Broadway. Knowing Gammon’s driver’s license is revoked, the officer initiated a traffic stop. Gammon, who was on parole from the Department of Corrections, was taken into custody for alleged driving while license revoked. An inspection of the vehicle Gammon was driving reportedly revealed 65 grams of methamphetamine, a digital scale, drug paraphernalia, and currency.

He was released to parole in November 2019 after pleading guilty in 2017 to a Class 3 felony charge of possession of meth. He had served two years of a five-year sentence.

A Jefferson County jury is expected to be selected July 27. If convicted, Gammon could face between 15 and 60 years in prison.
