Patricia Ann Flexser, 89, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 2:15 am July 16, 2021 at Hamilton County Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in McLeansboro, Illinois. She was born June 3, 1932 in Danville, Illinois to the late Roy and Melva (Hickman) Combs. Patricia married Louis Wayne Flexser on March 16, 1950. They were blessed with 52 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on May 8, 2002.

Patricia is survived by her children, Dwayne A. Flexser and wife, Kay of Winterville, North Carolina and Diana K. Newton and husband, Tom of Mount Vernon; grandchildren, Steven D. Flexser and wife, Emily of Denver, Colorado, Stacey J. Moore and husband, Mark of Bourbonnais, Illinois, Rebecca Vinyard and husband, Josh of Mount Vernon, and Jeffery Newton of Thompsonville, Illinois; and great-grandchildren, Ella Moore, Easton Moore, Carson Flexser, Avery Flexser, Rilyn Flexser, Caleb Vinyard, and Evan Vinyard.

In addition to her parents and husband, Patricia was preceded in death by her daughter, Judith Ann Flexser; two sisters-in-law; and two brothers-in-law.

Patricia graduated from Danville High School. She worked as a dental assistant for 23 years for Dr. Kenneth Toy DDS in Danville. She also volunteered as a Pink Lady at Crossroads Community Hospital and Red Cross. Patricia cherished the time she shared with her family. She will be greatly missed.

A Visitation will be held Sunday, July 25, 2021 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon. A Graveside Service will be held Monday, July 26, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville, Illinois with Pastor Michael Sheets officiating. Interment will follow. Memorials may be made in Patricia’s honor to Freewill Baptist Church or Meadowbrook Christian Church.
