WEST FRANKFORT, IL — The sheriff’s office in Franklin County says two West Frankfort residents were arrested as a result of a traffic stop Monday in which deputies recovered 24 grams of suspected methamphetamine, a stolen handgun and a shot gun.

Sheriff David Bartoni says 37-year-old Timothy A. Powell is charged with aggravated unlawful use of weapons, armed violence, possession of firearm/ammunition without FOID, possession of methamphetamine and possession of a stolen firearm. His bond is set at $50,000.

Thirty-eight-year-old Jennifer L. Mayo is charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine with the intent to deliver. She also had a warrant for delivery or possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine. Her bond including the warrant is set at $175,000.

Powell and Mayo are lodged in the Franklin County Jail.
