WOODLAWN, IL — A Woodlawn man was arrested Tuesday evening after a Domestic Disturbance call sent Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputies to home at 100 E. Galaxy.

23-year-old Steven Stevenson of Woodlawn was taken into custody around 6pm Tuesday by JCSO deputies on charges of Aggravated Battery, Aggravated Intimidation to a Peace Officer, Aggravated Domestic Battery, Child Endangerment, and Resisting/Obstructing an Officer.

Jefferson County Sheriff Jeff Bullard says Stevenson was allegedly shooting his significant other with an air soft gun repeatedly. Deputies on scene found evidence of domestic violence and as they were attempting to take Stevenson into custody, he resisted, injured an officer, and damaged a squad car. Both the officer that was injured and Stevenson were transferred to a local hospital with treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Stevenson is currently lodged at the Jefferson County Justice Center awaiting his first appearance in court on Wednesday afternoon on the charges.
