INA, IL — A semi driver from Missouri was involved in single-vehicle crash early this morning on I-57 in Jefferson County.

According to Illinois State Police, around 2:40 a.m. 36-year-old Marvin Casey of Batesville, Missouri was driving his semi with a trailer in the right lane north on I-57 at milepost 85 and entered a construction zone with concrete barriers.

Casey said that a car in the left lane crossed the center line and drifted into the right lane. Casey swerved to avoid contact and struck the concrete barrier on the right side. The semi came to rest in the right lane.

Casey suffered non-life-threatening injuries. He was taken by ambulance to an area hospital.

Northbound I-57 was closed for three hours during the crash investigation.
