MARION COUNTY — A 32-year-old Central City man has been charged with reckless discharge of a firearm in connection with an incident early Sunday morning when he allegedly fired a gun outside his home.

According to police, Joshua Wood was involved in an argument with his girlfriend Sunday morning and after breaking her cell phone to prevent her from calling police, he went outside and fired a gun. While he was outside, his girlfriend fled the home and called police.

Upon officers arrival, Wood briefly stayed inside the home before exiting the house without the gun.

He allegedly began struggling with police as he was being handcuffed but was ultimately taken into custody and transported to the Marion County Jail.
