SALEM — A Xenia woman reportedly escaped serious injury Thursday when a vehicle crashed through the window of the Salem Dollar Tree store and pinned her behind the greeting card racks she was standing near.

According to Salem police, 77-year-old Edward Kincaid of Salem was parking in the Spectra Shopping Center when he accidentally stepped on the accelerator of his vehicle instead of the brake.

His car jumped a curb onto the sidewalk, crashed through the window of the Dollar Tree, continued into the story and pushed the greeting card rack closest to the window to the one behind.

Neither Kincaid nor the woman shopping for cards suffered serious injury in the crash.
