JEFFERSON COUNTY — Three new confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Thursday brings the number of new confirmed cases in Jefferson County this week to 8, and 117 total.

According to the Jefferson County Health Department, 4 new cases were confirmed Wednesday and one was confirmed Monday. Among the cases confirmed includes a man over 100-years-old in a long-term care facility. The facility was not identified but the department reports that all residents and staff of the facility are being tested for the coronavirus.

From the IDPH report Thursday, 1,018 new cases of COVID-19 were reported Thursday across the state along with 20 additional deaths. That brings the state’s total confirmed cases to more than 150,000 and just over 7,100 fatalities.
