ILLINOIS — The Illinois Secretary of State’s office is encouraging residents to seek drivers’ services online if possible as local offices continue to see a backlog of people at their offices since reopening in the last few weeks.

Henry Haupt with the Secretary of State’s office says using online services has doubled amid the COVID-19 pandemic, and the office hopes to see that number continue to grow.

Haupt says if you do need to visit a secretary of state facility, please wear a mask and be patient as each facility is strictly practicing social distancing, but they are serving customers as quickly and efficiently as they can.
