SOUTHERN ILLINOIS – The Jackson County Health Department announced Wednesday that three more positive cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Jackson County.

Officials say a man in his 60’s likely acquired the virus from travel out of state. A woman in her 20’s likely acquired the virus from travel to the Chicago area. And a woman in her 90’s acquired the virus locally. There are now seven laboratory confirmed positives of COVID-19 in Jackson County.

The Franklin-Williamson Bi-County Health Department announced Wednesday that  a Williamson County woman in her 50’s tested positive for COVID-19 and is at home doing well.

This is the second laboratory confirmed positive of COVID-19 in Williamson County. The woman is thought to have been exposed to the virus through community spread.
