HERRIN/JOHNSTON CITY, IL — IDOT says work on Herrin Road from Christmas Tree Road to just east of I-57 will force lane reductions to begin weather permitting Monday at 7 a.m. Traffic will be down to one lane and controlled by flaggers.

Work is expected to last for four weeks and includes asphalt surface removal, asphalt paving and pavement markings.

Drivers should reduce speed, be alert to equipment and workers and use extreme caution while traveling through all work zones. To avoid any delays, you should seek other routes. Emergency vehicles will be allowed through the work zone as quickly as possible.
