CARBONDALE, IL — Carbondale Police are investigating an alleged shooting that injured one person Monday night.

Around 10:30 p.m., police responded to the ER at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale about a man with a non-life threatening gunshot wound. Officers spoke to the victim who said he was walking in the area between Tatum Heights Park and the 800 block of East College Street when he heard two or three shots. The victim said he was struck by one of the shots and he ran away from the scene. The victim called a friend who drove him to the emergency room.
