MARION COUNTY — A June 10th, jury trial date was confirmed Thursday in Marion County court for a 38-year-old Marion County man accused of sexually assaulting a child.

Richard K. Finley is already serving a 7-year prison sentence on a 2014 charge of felony disposal of methamphetamine manufacturing waste.

He began serving that sentence in October, but the investigation into the alleged sex assault was already underway at that time.

Finley is charged with Class X felony predatory criminal sexual assault of a victim under the age of 13 and Class 1 felony criminal sexual assault of a family member under the age of 18.

IDOC online records anticipate Finley to be released on parole for the meth conviction in August. However, bail on the sexual assault charges has been set at $750,000, which would require at least $75,000 cash to be posted to gain his release. Special conditions of release include not having contact with anyone under the age of 18.

Finley is next scheduled to appear in court on April 11th for a first appearance with his court-appointed attorney.
