MT. VERNON — WMIX/WDML brings you part 2 of a two-week series on the contested races for the school boards of Mt. Vernon City Schools District 80, Mt. Vernon Township High School District 201, and the Mt. Vernon City Council.

Today we begin with one of the candidates running for the MVTHS school board, Tena Elliot. Elliot, a former teacher at the high school, was elected to the school board 4 years ago and is up for re-election in this year’s race.

Elliot says her education and board experience helps her make the best decisions for the sake of the students, faculty and staff.

The other candidates running for MVTHS school board are Jonathon Ashby, Matthew Flanigan, Terry Knowles, and Lora Mellott Greathouse.
