CARRIER MILLS — There will be an electronics recycling and disposal event coming up this Saturday in Carrier Mills. The event will be held in the municipal building parking lot at 101 North Mill Street in Carrier Mills from 9 a.m. to noon or until the trailer is full.

You can no longer throw electronics away and they be taken to a landfill. Anything that can be plugged in is required to be recycled. So you can bring in electronics that no longer work or that you don’t want, and for a small cost you can come and dispose those electronics properly.

Console and big-screen TVs are $10, while small screen TV’s, computer monitors, and small flat-screens all cost $5 to be recycled. Vacuums, microwaves, printers, DVR’s, VCR’s, and copiers cost $1 to be recycled.

The event isn’t limited to Carrier Mills residents. Anyone can bring items so the electronics or batteries can be disposed of safely. Tires and paint are no longer accepted.
