GALLATIN COUNTY — The coroner in Gallatin County says his autopsy in the death of that missing Harrisburg woman found that she died from hypothermia due to exposure to the elements.

Tony Cox says the autopsy on 19-year-old Brooke S. Naylor of Harrisburg took place Saturday. The cause of death is preliminary pending a toxicology report. It could take a few weeks to get those results.

Illinois State Police say that a member of a search team looking for Naylor found her dead south of Pot Hole Lane in rural Gallatin County late Friday night.

Naylor was last seen on March 3 with her dog and her abandoned vehicle was located on the Eldorado – Ridgeway Blacktop about halfway between Illinois Routes 142 and 1.

Naylor’s funeral will be held this Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Campbell Funeral Home in  Carmi. Burial will be in the White County Memorial Garden in Carmi. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home
